Power cuts to begin from today

News

Power cuts lasting two and a half hours during the day and one hour during the night will be imposed from today. Accordingly the country will be divided into 4 zones and power cuts will be imposed, the Power and Energy Ministry said in a statement.

The power cut during the day will be imposed between 8am and 6pm. The power cut during the night will take effect for one hour between 6pm-10pm. Power cuts will not be imposed within the Colombo city limits and other main hospitals in the country.
