President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed that relevant authorities be informed to apprise the VIP security personnel to refrain from having roads closed to make way for VIP vehicles, the President's Media Division said.
These instructions were issued during yesterday's cabinet meeting after considering the inconveniences experienced by the public due to several road closures in the country.
Accordingly, the President has instructed the relevant authorities to inform the ministerial security divisions when driving VIP vehicles not to inconvenience the public.
