President Maithripala Sirisena visited the family of Vidya, the school girl who was murdered in Jaffna.
According to the government news portal the President visited the family in respons to a request made by Vidya’s mother at the concluding ceremony of the Nila Mehewara – President’s People Service National Program, held at Saivapragasa Ladies' College in Vavuniya yesterday (21st Oct.).
The President assured every support for the family, including the assistance for the education of the elder sister of Vidya. Vidya’s mother expressed her gratitude to the President for his intervention to expedite the relevant legal activities to bring justice, the statement said.
