Scientists claim space debris did not fall into the sea

The space debris WT1190F which was expected to make a landfall in the Southern Coast has exploded in space, the government news portal reported.
The Planetarium said that a group of scientists observing the space debris in a jet had witnessed that explosion in skies above Tangalle. The jet is expected to reach the Katunayake International Airport shortly, the report claimed. The scientists confirmed that the space debris did not fall into the sea. The space debris was expected to land about 65km to 100km off the Southern coast at 11:48am today.
