The Education Ministry has taken measures to tighten security around schools as the second term is set to commence on April 29.
Issuing a press release, the Ministry said that security operations around schools will be in effect prior to the re-opening of schools for the second term next Monday.
The Defence Secretary, Chief-of-Defence Staff, Commanders of the tri-forces, and the Inspector General of Police have been informed in writing to extend their assistance in this regard, the Education Ministry noted.
Meanwhile, measures will also be taken to ensure the safety of school buses, vans and public transport which would be used by students to travel to and from schools.
