Senior DIG Ravi Wijegunawardena assumed duties today (May 27) as the Senior DIG of the Northern Province.
Mr. Wijegunawardena replaced Senior DIG Roshan Fernando who was transferred to the Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
Senior DIG Wijegunawardena previously served in the Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
