An individual who published a video which contained derogatory comments on Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith has been remanded until May 27.
The suspect was ordered to be remanded when he was produced before the Marawila courts today (May 22).
Police have identified the suspect as a beautician in the Katuneriya area.
Charges have been levelled against the suspect who had published a video on social media containing disrespectful comments against the Cardinal's conduct in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks.
The suspect was arrested upon a tip-off provided by a Katuneriya resident to the Marawila Police.
