The UNP addressing a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has requested Facebook to refrain from divulging information of selected Sri Lankan users of Facebook to officials of the new government.
The letter also requests Facebook to refrain from divulging information on named individuals, geo locations and other identification details of users in the event of a request made by officials of the government.
The UNP also urged Facebook to refrain from providing details of users to the "illegal government unless it is properly sanctioned by a court of law in the country"

Ajith Gallage, the owner of a Bird Park in Nagarawawa, Hambantota, has been remanded over allegations of concealing illegally imported motorcycles, in a warehouse owned by him.
