The 25th death anniversary of late President Ranasinghe Premadasa falls today.
A commemoration ceremony took place opposite his statue at Hulftsdorp in Colombo in the morning under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The late President’s wife Hema Premadasa, his son Minister Sajith Premadsa and family members too were among the attendees. Ranasinghe Premadasa was the second Executive President of Sri Lanka.
The Government is finalising a list of names to be posted as heads of Sri Lanka’s missions abroad with ex-Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya assuming the position of Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
