A 52 year old was arrested by the Special Task Force for possession of TNT used for the production of explosives, in Paranathan of Jaffna District.
Based on information received by the Special Task Force Jaffna Camp, they had conducted a raid last Sunday on a Puthukkudiyiruppu resident, who had collected 8.4 kg of TNT explosives near the Paranathan tank in a container bag.
The Special Task Force (STF) are currently conducting investigations into the purpose the individual had collected explosives.
The raid was conducted by the officials of the STF Jaffna Camp including Deputy Inspector H. D. K. Witharana under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent K. G. G. G. Nishantha.
