Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) will send 12 athletes to represent the country at the inaugural South Asian Cross Country Series, which is set to flag off on Wednesday (15) at Kohima, a city situated in the northeast Nagaland region of India.
Sri Lanka will feature in the long distance running event under four different categories with six each of men and women set to compete.
SLA sources stated that it selected 12 athletes to represent Sri Lanka in the categories of Senior and Junior for Men and Women, from a trial held at the Diyagama Stadium last week.
Over 200 athletes representing all South Asian countries are set to compete under the four categories, at the inaugural event of the kind.
