Aus in SL: Sri Lanka names T20 squad

The Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a squad of 18 members for the upcoming T20 International series against Australia, under the captaincy of Dasun Shanaka. 
 
The squad includes all five players who were part of the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 -- Wanindu Hasaranga, Dusmantha Chameera, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana, who will make his international debut if selected to play in the final XI. 
 
Sri Lanka also has named uncapped Nuwanidu Fernando, a top order batsman and the younger brother of paceman Vishwa Fernando, who hasn't made it to the squad.   
 
Opener Pathum Nissanka makes a comeback to the side after a brief layoff and is likely to partner Danushka Gunathilaka. 
 
Spinner Jeffrey Vandersay and wicketkeeper/batsman Niroshan Dickwella have been named as standbys for the three-match T20I series, which begins next Tuesday (7) at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. 
 
The second game will be played on the following day (8) and the third game will be played on June 11 at Pallekele.
