The Annual Tournament Grant given to Major Clubs to compete in the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) conducted Major Club Tournament across all formats has been increased by another Rs.2.5 million per club, effective from the current year, according to an official communiqué issued by SLC .
With this increase, each club will receive an annual grant of Rs. 27.5 million to be utilised during the ongoing Major Club season.
The increase was affected taking into consideration the current economic climate in the country, the press release further explained.
Accordingly, SLC will invest a total of Rs.715 million as Tournament Grants for the Major Clubs during this year.
The decision was proposed and approved by the SLC Executive Committee following a meeting held on Tuesday (24).
