AIA Cricket: SSC beat the rain and Galle CC as 5 games abandoned

SSC beat Galle CC by 35 runs on Duckworth/Lewis Method to become the only team to register a win while the remaining five games were abandoned due to rain on Wednesday (9).

SSC batted first and raced to reach 278-6 in a match reduced to 30-overs per side with Kavinda de Tissera, Dasun Shanaka and Dhanushka Gunathilake scoring half centuries. 

Galle CC were curtailed to 185-6 in the 24th over when rain stopped play. 

The match was played at Galle. 

The matches of Army SC vs Badureliya at Panagoda and Saracens vs Ragama CC at Maggona ended in No Results after innings break.

Three of the remaining matches, NCC vs Sri Lanka Ports Authority at NCC, Tamil Union vs Colts at P. Sara Oval and Moors SC vs Chilaw Marians at Braybrooke Place were abandoned without a ball being bowled.
