Kenyans Antony Nduogo Nugo, Albert Kangor and Soseph Kariuki dominated the show at the 15th LSR Colombo Marathon on Sunday (4). The Kenyan trio of Nugo, Kangor and Kariuki won the first three places respectively in the Men’s International while Anuradhi Bogahawatte of Sri Lanka Navy won the Women’s International bringing honour to her country, in the annual event which saw 6466 runners from 39 countries take part. Nugo, who earlier won this marathon in 2013, clocked 2 hours, 23 minutes and 17 seconds this year, while Kangor (2:24.21) and Kariuki (2:25.51) finished minutes later. Sri Lankan runner Upul Vijitha Kumara clocked 2 hours, 26 minutes and 27 seconds to be placed fourth in the Men’s event. Sri Lanka's Bogahawatte clocked 3 hours, 2 minutes and 38 seconds ahead of Kenyan Dorcas Jebotip Tarus (3:9.43) and M.G. Buddhika (3:33.43) who finished at second and third respectively.
