Badminton: 6th Mercantile Doubles Championships 2016 in progress

The HDD Ex Group/Li-Ning sponsored 6th Mercantile Badminton Doubles Championships 2016 got under way yesterday at the Mercantile Badminton Headquarters Stadium, Malalasekera Mawatha, Colombo 7, and continues till Sunday (26). 

A total of 693 players including 22 national players constituting 62 teams from 47 companies, will compete for supremacy in the Grand Slam, Cup, Plate, Bowl and Novices segments. 

Semi-finals of all categories are being held on Saturday (25), followed by matches for the third spot on Sunday (26) at 9.00am. 

Finals of all segments will be played on the same day commencing 11.00am, with the Awards Ceremony at 4.00pm.
