The Badminton Development Foundation (BDF) of the Old Boy’s Association (OBA) of the D. S. Senanayake College has planned to organise the DS Smashes 2015 at the D.S. Senanayake College Indoor Complex on January 7.
The tournament, which was inaugurated in 2014, has been included as an annual event of the DSS OBA, conducted as a tournament to raise funds aiming the development of badminton in the school and with the intention of promoting the sport at national level.
“We wish to inform you that DS Smashes 2014 was highly successful with more than 1300 participants representing 115 badminton playing schools including almost all the leading badminton playing schools in Sri Lanka. It was commended as one of the best tournaments organised by an association,” a press release issued by the organisers stated.
