The 19th Classic Badminton Championship conducted by the Western Province Badminton Association (WPBA) will be held from September 1-3, at the Mercantile Badminton Association (MBA) Courts, Colombo 7.
Shuttlers born in the WP are eligible to take part in the tournament.
The Championship shall consist of Under (U)-14 and U-18 Boys, Girls Singles, Doubles, Over-20 Novices Men, Women Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, Over-40 Veterans Men Singles, Doubles, Over-30 Veterans Women Singles, Doubles.
This year the Boys and Girls matches will be played on a District basis and the best 8 players/pairs will be taken for the main draw.
District matches will be held in Panadura, Gampaha and Colombo.
The main draw matches will be played at the MBA courts.
Winners and Runners-up will receive Certificates and Gifts.
Entries will close on August 18, and should be handed over to the Tournament Secretary, WPBA, Shuttle Power Badminton Club, 136, Poorwarama Road, Kirillapona, Colombo 5.
