Sri Lankan pair Malkanthi Weerasinha and Ruki Wijeratne finished third in the Worldwide Bridge Contest which was held on October 19 by the World Bridge Federation to promote the game among the youth. Vajira Bridge Club of Sri Lanka took part in this contest along with 14 other bridge clubs from six countries namely England, Scotland, Wales, Korea, Japan and Sri Lanka. A total of 207 pairs of bridge players took part in this contest playing the same bridge hands at the same time around the world. The performance of Weerasinha and Wijeratne was one of best by a Sri Lankan duo in the recent past.
