The Lawyers team beat the team of Doctors by 17 runs in their annual Law-Medical cricket match was played at P. Sara Oval on December 5.
Winning the toss Doctors’ captain Rusiru invited Lawyers, led by Manesh Wevita, to bat first in a 35-over match.
Lawyers were bowled out for 151 in 34.5 overs with Priyantha Rajapakse scoring 35 runs. Kasun took four wickets and Rusiru took three for the doctors.
In reply Doctors only maged to score 134 in 32.3 overs.
Thushara scored 40 and Gawri scored 36. Gihan took three wickets, and Yohan and Manesh took two each.
With that win Lawyers won the BASL SLMC trophy.
Lawyers will now be participating in the 5th Lawyers’ Cricket World Cup in Brisbane, Australia to be held from 28th December 2015 to 10th January 2016.
