Sri Lanka Army shooters gained much of the honours at the colorful award ceremony held following the 2015 National Shooting competition of the National Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF).
The rifle and pistol events were conducted at the Navy shooting range in Welisara while the shotgun events were conducted at the ‘Clay Target Shooting Club of Colombo’ shotgun range in Payagala.
Fierce and fair competition was the order of the day with the Sri Lanka Army emerging as overall champions followed closely by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The occasion was graced by Dayasiri Jayasekera, Minister of Sports as chief guest, and Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Secretary of Defence, as the guest of honour.
Dr. D. M. R. B. Dissanayake, Secretary, Ministry of Sports, S. E. R. T. M. S. P. Bandara, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Sports and K. D. S. Ruwanchandra, Director General of Sports, too were present on the occasion.
