Sri Lanka fought well but succumbed to a 24-13 defeat at the hands of Hong Kong in a Junior Rugby Asiad match played at the Singapore International Stadium today (16).
Hong Kong led the halftime 14-8 but the deficit was cut down by Sri Lanka to 14-13 at one stage threatening of a strong comeback.
But clinical Hong Kong played by sets to secure the win with four converted tries.
Sri Lanka scored off two unconverted tries and a penalty.
On Saturday (19) Sri Lanka will take on Chinese Taipei.
