Sport

Former Isiapthana College No.8 and skipper Omalka Gunaratne has been appointed to lead the Sri Lanka Under-20 team at the ARFU Junior Rugby Asiad to be held in Singapore in December.

The side will be trained by Sanath Martis, who coached the unbeaten Royal College team last season while Colin Dinesh, the present Science College coach has been named as his deputy.

The combination of Martis and Dinesh created one of the most successful school rugby teams in the recent years in St. Peter’s College.

Former St. Peter’s College captain Kevin Dixon has been appointed as Gunaratne’s deputy for the tournament which takes place from December 13 to 19 featuring hosts Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei.
