Chamari Atapattu has been named the skipper of Sri Lanka Women’s team, currently touring New Zealand, after regular captain Shashikala Siriwardene was ruled out of action for four weeks due to an injury. “The captain of the Women's national team Shashikala Siriwardene was injured while batting in the last match. A delivery crushed her right thumb resulting in a displaced fracture. As advised by the doctor she will be immobilized for four weeks. Oshadi Ranasinghe will join the team as her replacement and Chamari Atapattu has been appointed the captain with Sripali Weerakkody as the vice captain of the team,” Sri Lanka Cricket, a issuing a media statement, said.

The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
