Ceylinco Chairman Lalith Kotelawala, Deputy Chairman of all Ceylinco group of companies and directors of the Golden Key Credit Card Company including Deputy Chairman Kavan Perera were taken to the Central Bank on Thursday for a special meeting to discuss a payment plan for depositors. Last week too, Kotalawela was taken from prison for a similar Central Bank meeting.
AG’s Department sources said the main purpose of the meeting was to finalize the Golden Key repayment plan and identify the list of assets valued for disposal by a special committee appointed by the Supreme Court. Central Bank officials confirmed that the meeting took place but didn’t give details.
The payment plan is to be presented to Court on September 1. At the meeting Kotelawala agreed to dispose of his assets to repay suffering depositors, other sources said .The possibility of raising Rs 13 billion by disposing of shares of the Chairman and Directors of GK and other affiliated companies was also discussed. |
