A new directory titled the “Lankians Directory” has been launched in London.
Lankians Ltd Managing Director Isuru Wijeratne handed over the first copy of the directory to Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardane last week in Colombo.
Mr Wijeratne said that Sri Lankans in UK can be segmented into many categories including students, newly arrived migrants, permanent residents and tourists. They too can be segmented by income, area and so on. “UK Sri Lankan business is dependent on many groups. Just a few can be named as investors, tourists and holiday makers, job seekers, exporters and importers. This directory is designed to cater to all these groups. This is the competitive advantage for its advertisers,” Mr. Wijeratne explained.
The Lankians Directory team includes many professionals, who have experience in many fields. Mr. Wijeratne is a marketing graduate with senior managerial experience in many UK firms and has also worked for Brandix and several top companies in Sri Lanka. Vasana Wickramasena, the editor of the directory is an attorney at law by profession but also a well-known journalist and a media trainer, who once headed the Journalism Programme at the Open University of Sri Lanka. |
