The Hatton National Bank (HNB) Group reported a 12% increase in income for the six months ended 30 June 2009 to Rs.20.6 billion from Rs.18.4 billion for the corresponding period the previous year.
According to HNB’s interim financial reports, the net interest income for the period increased by 18% to Rs.7 billion from Rs.5.9 billion in 2008. The operating profit for the period increased by 31% to Rs.1.7 billion from Rs.1.3 billion, the bank said.
The segment reporting shows that the total revenue from banking increased to Rs.18.7 billion from Rs.16..4 billion the previous year. Leasing showed a decline in 2009 to Rs.1.01 billion from Rs.1.16 billion.
The total revenue from dealing which is stock broking, security dealings, remittances and foreign currency related services decreased to Rs.96 million in 2009 from Rs.396 million the year before. The total consolidated revenue for the period under review increased to Rs.20.6 billion from Rs.18.4 billion. The cash flow statement shows that the Group’s cash and cash equivalents for the six months ended 30 June 2009 was Rs.36 billion compared to Rs.22 billion for the same period in 2009. (NG) |
