Young award winning dancer Nipun Voronika Dasanayake together with her teacher well known Indian dancer, Pandith Arjun Mishra will bring an evening of North Indian Kathak dance on March 14 (today) at 4 pm at the Hindu Cultural Centre, Kandy and at 4 pm on March 21 at Elphinstone theatre Maradana.
Having graduated from Bhathkande Music Institute University, Voronika has obtained Nipun completing eight years of education.
In both 2007 and 2008 she became the Best Kathak dancer of the year and was honoured with ‘Rathnadeepa’ by the Central Province. Voronika’s dancing programmes had been telecast a number of international television channels including ETV and Doordarshan.
Voronika’s teacher, Pandith Arjun Mishra is one of the leading dancers in India and had performed all the world over including Egypt, Russia, Japan, Germany, USA, Italy and Singapore. He is also well-known as a director of choreography. |
