CSC expands worldwide agency network

The Ceylon Shipping Corporation (CSC) plans to expand the worldwide agency network beyond the already existing agencies in 52 countries through a UK based international freight organization, according to a CSC press release.

The CSC has signed a partnership agreement with the Universal Freight Organization (UFO), securing an exclusive partnership in Sri Lanka to gain access to UFO's worldwide network of 121 agents in 110 countries. This agreement will pave the way for the corporation to becoming a globally-represented Sri Lankan state owned corporation, CSC press release said.

"Offering greater global coverage to CSC through our ISO 9001:2000 certified group of companies is a great pleasure for UFO," said UFO Chairperson Rachel Humphrey. "The post-war Sri Lanka and its development drive has today become the focus of many global business and UFO takes pride in partnering with CSC during this interesting time of the nation's history,"she said.

"UFO's worldwide network will assist CSC with the most competitive rates and service, providing CSC's customers with efficient and economical global logistic solutions," she said. Issuing the press release CSC Chairman Prasad Galhena said " CSC is partnering with UFO at a time when the country is forging ahead positively to become one of the main shipping hubs of the world.
