Aitken Spence will invest Rs.1.7 billion on the refurbishment and extension of the Ramada to be converted to ‘The Sands’, in Kalutara, the company said.
It will be spending Rs.700 million for refurbishment of the former Ramada hotel that will open in November this year with 112 rooms, Aitken Spence Hotels Managing Director Malin Hapugoda told the Business Times.
A further investment of Rs.1 billion will be made for the construction of the extension of the hotel that is to be completed by November 2012.
He noted that The Sands is synonymous with the beautiful sands and beach that surrounds it.
The extension work is set to commence in about 3-4 months time that will once completed become a 200 room hotel. |
