Quarter finalists found

Under 14 All Island Ten-A-Side Division ONE Rugby

The teams to advance to the knockout stage was found after the completion of the round robin matches in the Milo Under 14 All Island Ten-A Side Division One rugby tournament which was played at the Royal Sports Complex grounds in Reid Avenue yesterday.

The teams to qualify to the cup quarter finals were Isipathana, Vidyartha, S. Thomas’, CWW Kannangara MMV, DSS, St Peter’s, Royal and Trinity. The plate championship will be contested by S. Thomas Prep, St Joseph’s, Lumbini MV, Mahanama, Wesley, Prince of Wales, Science and Thurstan,
In the bowl championship St Benedict’s, Lalith Athulahmudali MV, Dharmaraja, Maliyadeva, St Sylvester’s have qualified to the quarter finals while Royal Panadura received a walk over and now advance to the semi final.

Nalanda booked a berth to the final of the Shield championship when they received a walk over and will now meet the winners of the clash between Piliyandala Central and Ananda. The tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Ltd saw 26 teams participating with two teams from Kandy St Anthony’s and Kingswood pulling out of the tournament.

The finals of the four categories (cup, plate, bowl, shield) will be worked off from 2.30 p.m. and the chief guest at the closing ceremony will Mohamed Ali, Brand Manager of Nestle Lanka Ltd.
