Adding another milestone for PIBT’s history, PIBT launches BSc (Hons) Computer Systems and Networking in affiliation with University of Greenwich – UK who enjoy a strong tradition as a technical and commercial training centre since 1890. This programme has been created with the active involvement of the computing and networking industry and has been designed to meet the growing demand for graduates with the knowledge and technical skills to design, create, operate and maintain network infrastructure for modern distributed enterprise computer systems.
Students work with the latest technologies to develop a sound theoretical understanding and in-depth practical experience of advanced networking, including cutting-edge developments in mobile computing.
Students can take industrial examinations such as Cisco, Microsoft and Sun certifications and develop valuable personal and professional skills. All students on the degree are automatically enrolled as student members of the British Computer Society and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the chartered bodies responsible for establishing and maintaining technical and ethical standards in the profession.
During the programme, students are given a firm grounding in computer networks and architectures, programming, software engineering and system design, together with the necessary foundation in mathematics and formal methods. Further it includes courses covering network technologies, security, performance and modelling techniques, as well as mobile and network programming. Assignments and group work are designed to prepare students to acquire the industry exposure. A major component in the final year is the project, which draws together the various courses studied throughout the programme.
