In a bid to make education facilities more accessible to South Asian students, SLIIT offers scholarships in a range of disciplines in the streams of Information Technology, Business Administration and Electronic Engineering.
Students from the South Asian region now have the opportunity to follow a degree programme by studying two years at SLIIT and transfer to a choice of SLIIT’s partner universities in the UK, USA and Australia during their third year.
SLIIT recognizes outstanding performance from students and offers merit-based undergraduate scholarships in the form of tuition waivers for South Asian students who wish to follow the institutes’ degree programmes. SLIIT will meet expenses for all tuition fees for the degree programmes chosen by these students.
If the student opts to follow a foreign degree program, additional fees that are levied by SLIIT’s foreign partner institution will have to be paid. The eligibility for scholarships will be determined on the performance of the G.C.E Advanced Level (London or equivalent) exam and the performance at the aptitude test.
SLIIT also offers the following degree programmes: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (SLIIT) (Hons - 4 years), and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology SLIIT) (3 years).
The institute also provides pathways for students to follow degree programmes in Electronic Engineering and Business Administration with partner universities abroad.
“We are very pleased to offer academic opportunities such as this to South Asian students, and we take pride in our affiliations with foreign universities and within the relevant industries in the country” notes Professor S. Karunaratne, Chairman of SLIIT. “While travel expenses, costs of meals and additional expenses will have to be borne by the students, assistance will be rendered by SLIIT to find suitable accommodation for them” elaborates Professor Lalith Gamage, President and CEO of SLIIT.
“The institute seeks to equip students with the skills necessary to meet the challenges of emerging trends within these industries today, not only within Sri Lanka but the South Asian region as well. It is our duty to identify and harness our strengths in catering to the growing need for top-notch professionals who will make an important contribution and take these industries forward”.
