Christopher Zappia has joined Hilton Hotels Sri Lanka as the Cluster Commercial Director for both Hilton Colombo and Double Tree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort.
Mr. Zappia hails from a family of hoteliers in Southern California, bringing with him a wealth of experience spanning 30 years in the hospitality industry. Having begun his career at his family owned motel across the street from Disneyland in Anaheim, California, Mr. Zappia began his professional career by joining the Double Tree by Hilton in Orange County California. After working in the US he continued his career working in Indonesia, Jordan, Egypt, Cebu in the Philippines and Vietnam, Hilton Colombo said in a media release.
His work experience includes senior roles in both the corporate and non-profit worlds of international brand development and sales and marketing in several hotels and management companies around the world. His last posting prior to his arrival in Colombo was as the Director of Sales & Marketing at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay in Vietnam.
