Currently on at the Saskia Fernando Gallery in Horton Place, Colombo 7 is ‘Elsewhere’, an exhibition by artist Sandatharaka Abeysinghe.
Inspired by Ilya Repin’s Sadko, Abeysinghe envisions an underwater world where a city engulfed by water continues to thrive in the present day, hidden from the world above. In this surreal realm, terrestrial flora has evolved into towering giants, creating a haven for a forgotten civilisation.
The exhibition will be open to the public until November 14.
