Sri Lanka women got the better of their Bangladeshi counterparts in a narrow-win, after Inoka Ranaweera ran through the latter's batting line-up claiming a 4/7 and winning by three-runs, based on Duckworth-Lewis Method, in the Women's T20 Asia Cup, on Monday, in Bangladesh.
Chasing a paltry target of 84, in a rain-curtailed affair, the hosts were never in the chase.
Making matters worse, Ranaweera, also the player-of-the-match, ensured they never got going, having also dismissed her oppposite side's captain.
Lankan lasses, now in the semis, after being sent to bat first, lost their skipper, Chamari Athapaththu, cheaply. The semi-finalists, eventually, crawled to 83, in their alloted 18-overs
Chief scores:
SL W: 83 for five (18.1/18.1) (Nilakshi De Silva 28 not out, Harshita Samarawickrama 18, Rumana Ahmen 2/14) beat
Ban W: 37 for seven (7/7) (Niagar Sultana 12, Inoka Ranaweera 4/7)
