Ind in SL: Start of white-ball series pushed forward by four days

Sport

The white-ball series between Sri Lanka and India has been pushed forward by four days, following the COVID-19 scare inside the hosting team, who reported two positive cases within two days.

Batting coach Grant Flower and Performance Analyst Niroshan Shirantha were tested positive for COVID-19, following PCR tests, during their quarantine period after the tour to England.

The players and the rest of the support staff are currently undergoing quarantine until Sunday (11) and all members will undergo a PCR test again before being released for training.

The ODI series was to begin on Tuesday (13), but with the present condition it will now begin next Saturday (17), followed by the second and third games on July 19 and 21.

The T20 series will be played on July 24, 25 and 27.

All matches will be played at the R. Premadasa ICS in Colombo.
