Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) has requested the Ministry of Sports to intervene to the plight of coaches, to which the swimming sport's governing body anticipates a positive response from the higher authorities.
SLASU is in line to hire Chinese coaches for all four aquatic sports -- swimming, diving, waterpolo and artistic swimming.
They intend to recruit qualified and experienced coaches from China through the Sri Lanka's diplomatic ties with the Chinese government.
"China is the best in the diving in the world, hence SLASU is looking for Chinese coaches for the national set up through the China-Sri Lanka governments' cultural programme," Nethru Nanayakkara, the president of SLASU, said.
