Saman Kumara Gunawardena has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Selection Committee by the Sri Lanka Athletic Association.
Saman Kumara, as he is well known in the athletic fraternity, is a long serving official of SLAA and was a member of its Selection Committee since 1997.
He is the Director of Physical Education at University of Kelaniya and has been associating with national selections since 1992 as a statistician before being appointed to the committee in 1997.
Under Saman Kumara's leadership R.A. Wimalasena Perera, Udeni Kanchanamala, Patrick Saparamadu and B.A. Dayaratne will form the Selection Panel for Athletics.
