Former National cricketer and national cricket selector Ranjith Madurasinghe who is also Secretary Kurunegala DCA has been appointed member of the SLC Interim committee By the Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekera. According to insiders the appointee is to fill the void created by the resignation of Jayananda Warnaweera from the Interim Committee. However after the Sports Minister Jayasekera had earlier announced that the SLC cricket elections would be held early January 2016, thus the appointment of Madurasinghe will be valid for just over a month. This is the second time that Madurasinghe has been invited to join the Interim Committee. On an earlier occasion another Kurunegala stalwart Johnston Fernando – the then Sports Minister also named Madurasinghe as a member of an SLC Interim Committee.
