Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will offer annual contracts to approximately 70 cricketers in the category of youth, emerging and senior according to reliable information.
This, the SLC states, is in a bid to encourage the cricketers to push their way to the national team and challenge the players who are in the present national squad.
SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala has stated that his committee wishes to see the players who have not played for the country come out of the club level and start challenging those in the national players.
The SLC will sign contracts with players on October 30 and will come to affect from November 1 until April 30.
According to the category of the player, each will receive a contract fee of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 100,000 monthly.
