Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) named a 12-man squad for the Asian Rugby Qualifiers of the Rio Olympics to be held in Hong Kong this weekend. Sri Lanka fields a well seasoned team with the inclusion of top performers such as Fazil Marija, who stepped down as the Sevens skipper last month, Srinath Sooriyabandara, Sandun Herath, Dhanushka Ranjan, Nigel Ratwatte, Anuruddha Wilwara and Richard Dharmapala. Sri Lanka competes in Pool ‘B’ alongside Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines and Iran while in Pool ‘A’ Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore and Chinese Taipei will contest. On Saturday (7) Sri Lanka’s first game will be up against Iran at 9.00am, followed by their second game against Malaysia at 12.45pm. Sri Lanka will take on hosts Hong Kong at 6.20pm on the same day with their final Pool game is set to be played on Sunday (8) at 11.30am against Philippines.
