Seasoned campaigner Thanuja Dilrukshi has been appointed the skipper of the Sri Lanka Women’s 7s team participating at the upcoming Asia Rugby Olympic Qualifier to be held in Hong Kong this weekend. Sri Lanka will be among six countries vying for a slot in the Rio Olympics Rugby Championship alongside Japan, China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Guam. Their first game will be against host Hong Kong at 11.10am on Saturday (7) followed by games against Japan at 2.05pm and Guam at 4.10pm later in the day. On Sunday (8) they will meet China at 9.30am and Kazakhstan at 12.20pm before the knockout round. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
