Two policemen drown

Two Police constables were drowned in the Police Sports Complex Swimming Pool in Narahenpita on Friday. Constables Dilaka Wickremage (22), from Middeniya, and assistant coach Asanka Cruz (30), from Thimbirigasyaya, were seen at the pool shortly before 4.30 pm, the estimated time of death.

Police spokesman Preshantha Jayakody said a post-mortem confirmed that the deaths were caused by drowning.
