Assault claim at Colombo jail

An inmate at the Colombo Remand Prison (CRP) was recovering in hospital last night after being allegedly attacked by a jailor, prison sources said.

The injured prisoner was identified as G Coonghe. A CRP spokesperson, jailor Ivan Fernando, told The Sunday Times that he was not aware of any such incident.
