A New principal has been selected by the Harcourts Foundation for the Harcourts International School.She’s none other than the Veteran Principal known to all in Srilanka,Mrs F.B.Jurangpathy.
Her 46 years in Education Management,and her immense contribution to the field of education,haven’t gone unnoticed.She was the Principal of Linsay Balika Vidyalaya,col-4,Al-Hidaya Maha Vidyalaya,Colombo-10,Muslim Ladies College,Colombo-4,City High School,Dehiwala and Currently at Burhani Serendib Schol,Colombo-4.
We at Harcourts very humbly have invited Mrs Juranpathy to take over the office of principal of Harcourts International School,to which she has accepted.She has taken over office from the 1st of September 2011.
In commenting on the new Principal, The Chairman Mr Ahamed Rheyas stated that , “We are very fortunate to have a renowned educationist like Madam Jurangpathy to guide our students.”
Mr Rheyas said, “The staff and students of His are very excited to have Madam as their principal and everyone knows she will do a great job.”
Her past experience and deep understanding of teaching will certainly be an asset. Additionally, her knowledge of differentiated instruction and integration of understanding to the students were evident and highlightes during her tenure at Muslim Ladies College.
She is a member of Association Of Muslim professionals and Entrepreneurs,National Educational Research and evaluations Centre(NEREC)Faculty of education-University Of Colombo.and many such worthy organizations.
She was felicitated with a prestigious award by the Lions District 306 c for her contribution to the field of education on the 21st April 2004 which was organized to mark the International Women’s day. |
