The ultimate quiz challenge .......... on 24th September
The Management Club (TMC), formed in 2002, under the auspices of the Chartered Management Institute, has over the years grown to become a place for professional managers in Sri Lanka to network and interact while sharing and gaining from the experiences of one another.
While TMC organises evening meetings, seminars, workshops and members gatherings with "share a book" evenings etc on a regular basis for the benefit of its members and guests, a significant feature in its calendar of events has been the TMC Wisdom Quiz held in September each year.
Following the success of TMC's Wisdom Quiz event that has now been held for 5 consecutive years since September 2006, the sixth in the series -TMC-Wisdom Quiz 2011- will be held next Saturday 24th September at the Grand Ballroom of the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo 03 from 4.00pm onwards.
With more than 35 teams already registered, it sure will be a hotly contested event as new teams have entered the fray to battle it out for the prestigious TMC- ICTA Challenge Trophy together with cash awards for the first five teams.
ICT Agency Sri Lanka has joined TMC as its strategic partner for this event in bid to assist and enhance TMC's knowledge development efforts. Joining TMC as co sponsors will be IQA Lanka, ACBT, ICBT Campus, DSI, Pan Audio, CMI Sri Lanka, Sunday Times and Education Mirror.
The competition will be conducted as a team event as in the past with 5 members per team and open to 4 sectors - Schools & Educational Institutions, Public & Mercantile Firms, Banks and Financial Institutions and teams formed by individuals.
There will be 05 rounds, with 10 questions to a round covering current affairs, sports & games, science, history/art/literature/entertainment & general knowledge. An interesting feature in the TMC Quiz has been that each time, some questions have been based on visuals, video clips and movie clips - making the quiz very entertaining even for those witnessing it.
Entries keep pouring in but the organisers will be compelled to limit the number of entries and close registrations well before the expected cut off date due to space constraints and other logistical arrangements.
One unique feature in the TMC Wisdom Quiz has been that the teams are formed by a mix of individuals from young and the not-so-young, working and non-working people alike with one thing in common - the enthusiasm and the interest shown by each one of them - which has been truly admirable.
With less than a week to go, those interested can still obtain information about the quiz on tel: 5860000 or on 0777-418191 and check with the organisers about the possibility of registering their teams. |
