‘Gulee Guna Suwanda’, the 13th death anniversary of writer, editor, translator and radio journalist Kalasuree Gunadasa Liyanage will be commemorated at 3.30 pm on March 13 at the Public Library, Colombo.
Editor of a large number of newspapers and periodicals Gunadasa Liyanage who was popularly known as ‘Gulee’ has written more than 45 books which included novels, short stories and translations.
Jointly organised by the Gunadasa Liyanage Commemoration Foundation and Sri Lanka Working Journalists Association, the event will include short speeches by venerable monks, well-known writers and journalists on Gulee and his contribution to Sri Lankan literature and journalism.
At this event a vocal tribute is to be rendered by veteran singers Victor Ratnayake, Rohana Beddage, Abeywardena Balasuriya and Deepika Priyadharshani. In collaboration with the commemoration an exhibition of books, posters and photography will also be held at the Public Library premises. |
