Starting from this week, Rupavahini will telecast a mega teleserial ‘Sihina Kumari’ (Dream Girl) daily at 7.27 pm from Monday to Friday.
With massive 132 episodes, the teleplay, a direction of Chamara Jayaweera which kicked off from March 4 has a star-studded cast with young and experienced artistes including Roshan Pilapitiya, Chathurika Peiris, Veena Jayakody, Nita Fernando, Robin Fernando, Kusum Renu, Buddhi Wickrama, Janith Wickramage, Manel Wanaguru and Rebecca Nirmali.
Scripted and written by Lakshman Pushpakumara, the miniplay revolves around triangular love, rivalries in the business world and a series of rare incidents which occur in real life.
The story is mainly focused on the key role, Anya, a daughter of wealthy Edmond and Silvia Galaboda. Though hailing from a well-to-do family, Anya leads a simple life involving in many charitable activities.
Oshan, a poor young man lives in an urban surrounding with Lucian Wanigasekara who brought him up when he found him as a baby on the road. But Oshan is unaware about his real parent. Lucian’s son is Marlon who works as a cab driver. But he treats both of them as his own children.
Meanwhile Senith is a young man coming from a wealthy business family and a beautiful Tirasha tries to win his heart. However Senith has fallen in love with Anya who is also Tirasha’s cousin.
One day Lucian is admitted to the hospital with a heart attack and money is needed for an immediate surgery. Both Oshan and Marlon become helpless and in their effort to find money Marlon who is also well-known for his driving joins a group of the underworld to carry out the abduction of a young girl.
Determined to collect money for his father’s operation, Marlon keeps it a secret from everyone including Oshan. And the girl to be abducted is none other than Anya. Oshan who senses Marlon’s alleged involvement in the dangerous contract follows his movements.
Will Marlon be able to carry out his mission and what will happen to Anya? What would happen to Senith and his love for Anya? Will Tirasha be able to win Senith’s heart? What will be the future of Oshan?
All these will be decided at the end of twenty six weeks telecast of ‘Sihina Kumari’.
