AWA shows ‘Sanctuary of Life’

‘Sanctuary of Life’, an exhibition of a variety of artistic creations by members of the Association of Women Artists (AWA) to commemorate the International Women’s Day will be held at 9.00am to 5.00pm from March 8 to 25.

at Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts Gallery, 38, New Jayaweera Mawatha, wthul Kotte. Displaying different dimensions of life such as heritage, relationships, safety, victory, death, moods etc .. seen by seven Sri Lankan women artists, the exhibition consists of paintings, installations, sculptures and photographs.

Hailing from different walks of life, the group of artists include award winning designers, professional artistes who have graduated from both local and international universities. They are Inoka De Silva, Krishanthi Sepalika Uluwitage, Manori Jayasinghe, Sajeewani Hewawitharane, Thusharangika Indunayani, Marie Gnanaraj and Nisansala Karunaratne

The organising body, the Association of Women Artists was initiated at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts (VAFA) in the year 2001.
